What this is

Public records almost never state a technology readiness level, so these bands are an indicative keyword rule, not an assessment by experts. Project title names a pilot, demonstration, prototype or field trial: TRL 6–7. Title names developing a process, technology, method or device: TRL 3–5. Title is mapping, assessment, survey, exploration or a geological study: not a technology project. Anything else: TRL 1–4. Patent filings are shown as TRL 3–5 at most, because a filing shows a concept and not a plant. The 346 patent families are not banded one by one for that reason. Pilot-scale work by companies such as Lohum or Attero, and CSIR-NML pilot plants, are not in the sources ingested so far.
